Perth Pi

Data practices

Privacy policy

This policy describes the current Perth Pi household prototype and this public information website.

Purpose and access

Perth Pi is operated by its household administrator for personal household use. It uses Google Calendar data only to provide the calendar display requested by the household.

The app requests read-only access using Google's calendar.events.readonly and calendar.calendars.readonly permissions. These permissions can cover calendars accessible to the authorising Google account; the current implementation requests only the configured Household calendar. It does not create, edit or delete calendar events.

Data used

The integration reads calendar metadata and label definitions, and upcoming event information. This can include event titles, dates, start and end times, locations, descriptions, recurrence information and other fields returned by Google Calendar. It uses label names and colours to style the display.

Storage and retention

The current prototype fetches events for the next 90 days and stores the returned calendar and event data locally on the household computer. A successful refresh replaces the previous snapshot. If a refresh fails, the last successful snapshot is retained until a later successful update or manual deletion by the administrator.

Google authorisation tokens are stored locally with file access restricted to the computer's user account so the app can refresh its read-only access. Tokens remain stored until replaced or removed. The local display is available to people given access to the household device.

Sharing and limited use

Calendar data and tokens are not uploaded to this public information website. The project does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Control, revocation and deletion

The authorising user can withdraw the app's access from their Google Account connections settings. Revocation stops future access but does not itself erase cached data. To remove local data, ask the household administrator to stop the calendar service and delete the saved authorisation token and cached calendar files from the household computer.

This website

These information pages are designed to be hosted on Cloudflare Pages. They contain no sign-in, calendar connection, tracking scripts or analytics configured by the project. The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the website; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Contact and changes

For questions or requests, contact the household administrator directly using your existing contact details. This is a private project for people personally known to the administrator. The policy will be updated if the project's data practices change.
